Terms & Conditions

Any work undertaken by Helter Skelter Studios is subject to the following Terms & Conditions:


Turnaround Times

All orders have a standard turnaround time of 72 hours (this does not include weekends or bank holidays). Dates will be confirmed when booking your photo shoot.


Returning Your Items

We charge a standard price of £9.99 for packages up to 30kg with dimensions no greater than 60cm x 60cm x 60cm. Please advise at time of booking if you need your products back by a specific date otherwise we cannot be held responsible for items arriving late for a specific requirement. When we return your items to you we ensure that they arrive quickly & safely.

All of our parcel services are supplied by either UK Couriers or Royal Mail Recorded services. Whilst in transit to our studio, products should be covered by the courier’s or client’s insurance. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the insurance is sufficient to cover the goods that are being transported.

When we return your items we will add £100 of insurance cover at no extra charge; items may be insured for more at your request. If you are shipping items of high value, a separate shipping quote will be given to ensure your goods arrive home safely. Helter Skelter Studios will accept no responsibility for items that are lost or damaged in transit. If you prefer to arrange your own courier to collect your stock, this is absolutely fine, please supply us with relevant labels for your parcels & just let us know when to expect collection.

Since we use couriers, if there is nobody available to accept delivery then there will be no delivery made. If a signature can be obtained then the courier will deliver the consignment. Normally, if there is nobody to receive the item the driver will leave a card & return the parcel to the local depot. Please contact the courier to re-arrange delivery.



Whilst we have your items, they will be covered by our insurance. If we need additional insurance to cover more valuable items then this can be discussed & arranged as required.



The price you are quoted is the price you pay. We will provide a quote in writing. Our quotes remain valid for 28 days.


Paying For Your Photography

We will invoice you for your photography once it has been completed. Low resolution watermarked images will be supplied digitally for the client to approve prior to making payment. Any amendments can be made during this time. We accept payment by BACS, credit/debit card, PayPal & cheque. Final high resolution images will be released when full payment has been received. Use of our photography before settling your invoice is strictly prohibited. We will make the hi-res pictures available with no watermarks within 48 hours of receiving your payment.


Receiving Your Images

Once payment has been received we will return your items. If you require a copy of your new photos on CD in addition to the digital download we will supply one FREE of charge.



Low resolution images will be presented to the client for their approval before being asked to pay for them. Based on this approval system, we cannot offer refunds against our photographic images after the images have been approved & payment has been made.



Where possible we ask that a minimum of 48 hours notice is given should you need to cancel a photo shoot. We are extremely busy & when notice is given to us we are able to let someone else book into the space that you no longer need. We won’t charge you for having to pull out with 48 hours notice however  missed bookings with no prior warning will be charged in full.


Photography Brief

We will confirm the brief, timescale, price and terms after we have agreed these with you verbally.Changes/additional requests made to the brief will delay original timescales & may incur additional charges. We will do our best to accommodate minor changes and will consult with you should we feel that the changes requested cannot be met within the scope of the original agreement.



Once you have viewed your new photos, you may require some tweaks. We aim to complete amendments within 48 hours. (Working Days Only)


Our Promise to you

If you’re not 100% happy with your pictures we will re-shoot them for FREE if notified within 24 hours of viewing. Please note that this doesn’t apply when we have adhered to the agreed initial brief & the client has made alterations/changes to the brief. In this case, images will be re-shot but this will incur an additional charge per item shot.


Unpaid Invoices 

If payment is not made by the due date an additional charge of £5 per day will be added to the total amount due for each day that the invoice remains unpaid.



In keeping with English Law we retain Copyright on all images supplied to our clients. For catalogue or packshot photography the terms of our licenses give the client permission to use images for advertising, brochures, magazines & web use. We don’t limit your usage to specific time-scales, once you have paid for them they are your images to use as you like. Selling on your photos to other companies for their own business use is strictly prohibited.

In more detail, we offer three types of license.

  1. License for editorial use – non exclusive, non-transferable license for use in advertising media including magazines, web sites, social media where the context explicitly supports the license holders business.
  2. License for Exclusive Commercial Use (2 Years) – Exclusive, non-transferable license to use the images for commercial purposes for a period of two years – a surcharge of 50% of the shoot fee is applied on delivery.
  3. License for Exclusive Commercial Use in Perpetuity – Exclusive, Non-transferable license to use images for commercial purposes in perpetuity – a surcharge of 100% of the shoot fee is applied on delivery



Exclusive means that you and you only are licensed to use the images. They will not be sold, licensed, lent or otherwise distributed to third parties. The Photographer retains the right to use images for advertising or other means of promoting their work.

Force Majeure

Helter Skelter Studios shall have no liability to the client if it is prevented from or delayed in providing its service by acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond its reasonable control, including failure of a utility service or transport network, act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm or default of suppliers or sub-contractors.


Social Media

By using our service, you are agreeing to our using selected images in our own marketing.  If your products are confidential, please let us know prior to the shoot & we will keep those images private.
